Q. How would you describe your leadership style?
A. I try to listen more than I talk.
Q. What do you like most about working for the City?
A. I have been very impressed in my first few days with the quality of people working for the City and how results-oriented the departments and elected officials are.
Q. What are your priorities for Finance and Property Services?
A. Continue to provide high-quality information and services to the rest of the enterprise. Credibility has always been a key value for me.
Q. What’s something surprising that people don’t know about you?
A. I make my own kombucha. I would encourage you to try it if you like healthy, slightly sweet/mostly sour beverages.
Q. What’s your favorite place for lunch in Minneapolis?
A. Spoonriver for a longer lunch or Surdyks deli for a lunch to go.
Q. What music are you listening to lately?
A. A wide range from older Los Lobos, Van Morrison and U2 to Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and George Straight to Bach (I sing in a choir that focuses on classical music).

Q. What’s your favorite movie?
A. A family activity when our children were growing up was to watch musicals together. For nostalgia purposes, “White Christmas” ranks pretty high.
