Ready to continue your education? Save on tuition at Saint Mary’s, Augsburg
You get discounted tuition and waived application fees at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and Augsburg College. The City offers this opportunity as a response to the most recent employee engagement survey that shows City employees seek more promising futures in their careers here. Many of the degree programs apply to career opportunities within the City.
Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota
City employees receive 10 percent off all online and classroom graduate and professional degree programs, certificate programs and individual courses at Saint Mary’s University. Some advanced degrees can be earned entirely online, and online program offerings have been expanded to include a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business administration. The discount applies to current and new students. City employees will also have an expedited enrollment process.
City employees get a $50 discount per undergraduate credit for adult undergraduate degree programs and an $80 discount per graduate credit for graduate degree programs at Augsburg College.

A more promising future
These new educational partnerships are part of the City’s response to findings from the 2014 My Minneapolis employee engagement survey. The survey found that creating a more promising future for employees would positively impact employee engagement. Discounted tuition rates provide access to more affordable educational opportunities, which can lead to career advancement.
By entering into these educational partnerships, the City also establishes closer relationships with local educational institutions and students, which can help the City create pathways for the workforce of the future.
