Sign up for mindfulness training program to lower stress

The City’s Wellness Committee now offers employees free mindfulness training with tools to help manage your stress and achieve a higher state of well-being. Learn how to stabilize your mind and increase resilience through mindfulness practices including meditation and yoga.

The training lasts six weeks, with classes from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. The first 15 minutes of class includes time for participants to eat lunch if they brought it, ask questions and talk to their peers. The lessons begin at 12:15 p.m.

You must commit to attend every class. Space is limited, and students will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Choose a summer or fall training:

Please note that the training dates aren’t all consecutive; classes may skip a week.

Instructors from the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing will lead the classes. You’ll receive an illustrated manual, a CD with four meditation exercises and a meditation card. Wear comfortable clothing and expect light exercise and time on the floor.
