Need to replace your Metropass? Replacement fee dropped to $5

Metro Transit lowered the fee to replace lost or stolen Metropass cards from $20 to $5. If your card is lost or stolen, fill out the Metropass replacement request form and give it to the Benefits team by the first Friday of the month; you’ll receive your replacement card by the following month.

A pass can be replaced up to two times per year. Metro Transit will not charge you for a defective pass.

City employees save on Metropasses

City employees get discounted Metropasses. Minneapolis Professional Employees Association (MPEA) members pay only $40 a month for a Metropass and all other employees pay only $50 a month. Undiscounted Metropasses cost $76 per month.

About Metropass

A Metropass gives you unlimited Metro Transit bus and train rides that cost up to $3. (You can add money to your card if your regular bus ride costs more than $3.) Once enrolled, your share of the cost of the Metropass is automatically deducted from your pre-tax pay each month. You’ll receive a Metropass ID card that you simply scan on the bus or at the METRO stop for each ride.

To sign up for a Metropass, complete the enrollment form and return it by email or interoffice mail (Benefits Office, Public Service Center, Room 100). The form must be received by the first Friday of the month for your Metropass to take effect the first day of the following month.
