Open house July 27 to launch new Fire and Emergency Services Explorer Program

The Fire Department will host an open house Wednesday, July 27, to launch its new Fire and Emergency Services Explorer Program for Minneapolis residents age 14-21 (must have graduated from eighth grade) to learn about becoming a firefighter. The open house will take place 5-8 p.m. at the Minneapolis Emergency Operations Training Facility, 25 37th Ave. NE. Please share this opportunity within your personal and professional networks.

The program is a hands-on leadership development, career exploration and training program in partnership with Learning for Life and the Boy Scouts of America. Members meet twice a month and learn about the career of firefighting directly from Minneapolis firefighters.
