Public Service Center, City of Lakes add daytime security

The City added daytime security coverage to the Public Service Center and City of Lakes buildings to create safer and more secure work environments for employees, customers and members of the public. You’ll see security at the buildings now from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday in addition to their regular weekend and holiday shifts.

The security guards will respond to reports of suspicious activity, disruptive behavior, workplace violence and property crime, including theft, vandalism or misuse or damage of property. They will also patrol both buildings and exterior grounds.

No specific incident triggered the addition of security at the buildings. Trends show an increase in security incidents at the buildings and surrounding properties in the last 18 months. The added security aims to deter and reduce criminal activity and decrease the response time to disturbances and other incidents.
