Free wellness classes teach you how to create positive work environments, find life balance, meditate mindfully and more

Learn how to create a positive work environment, find life balance, meditate mindfully, get the nutrition you need and be healthy and well in a series of free wellness classes offered by the City’s Wellness Committee and the Community Planning and Economic Development Department.

Enroll in a single class in COMET or sign up to take all five. Enrollment is limited to 25 employees, so register soon to guarantee a seat.

You’ll earn 25 points in the 2016 employee wellness program when you self-report your attendance at one of the classes in by Dec. 31. You can take up to two classes to earn a total of 50 points. You will receive a $20 gift card for every 100 points you accumulate in the program up to a maximum of $100 for 500 points.

Wellness classes

Learn how to build trust, communicate positively, set expectations and needs, create ideas for recognition and rewards, build teamwork, find meaning in your work, accept responsibility and bring humor into the workplace.

An out-of-balance life can contribute to high levels of stress. In this course, you’ll have an opportunity to complete the Optum Lifescale survey and learn to use assets to fit their needs. You will also learn many ways to deal with stress.

In our busy, "automatic pilot" lives, we may crave opportunities to be mindful. Learn different ways to integrate mindfulness into your busy life.

Learn how to plan some healthy meals during your busy week and better understand nutrition information such as nutrition labels, blood sugar levels and fiber.

Learn about the major components of wellness and the importance of incorporating them into your life.
