Upcoming workplace study will help guide plan for downtown workspaces

Observers will walk through some downtown City workspaces the week of Jan. 9 to study how the spaces are used. This observational study will be used in conjunction with focus groups and interviews with department leaders to create a new vision and plan for the City’s downtown campus.

The observers will take notes and photos, with permission, during the study. They have been instructed to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Local architecture and design firm Perkins + Will will use the information to develop a workplace approach and a pre-design report for City Hall and a consolidated downtown office building. The goal is to develop high performance workplaces that improve employee experience and better integrate people, places and technology, resulting in improved experiences for Minneapolis residents, businesses and visitors.
