Here is the City STAR Super STAR:
Forrest Brown, housing inspector II
Administration and Community Engagement, Regulatory Services
Forrest Brown was nominated for his initiative, creativity and cross-departmental collaboration in the development of the Minneapolis Homeowner Resource Guide, a significant enterprise tool that is user-friendly and increases customer satisfaction. Residents and staff can search loans, grants and all available repair resources based on their locations on a Minneapolis map. This interactive tool has increased community engagement significantly by allowing residents easy access to all the financial and repair resources available to them. The Minneapolis Homeowner Resource Guide has vastly expanded the ability of all residents to make needed repairs to abate violations by providing them with the financial and volunteer resources available. This database has become an important tool that is used not only by his fellow inspectors in Regulatory Services but also by Neighborhood and Community Relations staff, the City Council offices and all the neighborhood groups and cultural communities in the city who found the interactive map and accompanying printed guide extremely useful.
Brown was nominated by Regulatory Services Deputy Director Kellie Jones and Angie Hugen, manager of the Homeowner Navigation Program.
