Micah Intermill named budget director
Micah Intermill joins the City as budget director, bringing a dozen years of experience in and around government, advocacy and public finance. As budget director, Micah leads a team responsible for management and coordination of all aspects of the budget process, ensuring elected officials and department heads have the information they need to appropriately allocate City resources.
Prior to coming to the City, Micah served as chief financial officer for the State of Minnesota Department of Administration where he was responsible for all aspects of financial management at the agency including accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement, budgeting and financial reporting as well as oversight and review of internal service, enterprise rates and business planning. Before joining the team at the Department of Administration, Micah worked for its sister agency, Minnesota Management and Budget, in two roles – first as an executive budget officer supporting the state government and agriculture bill areas, and later in an interim role as acting compensation manager within the Enterprise Human Resources Division.
In the past, Micah has served as director of advocacy for the Assisted Living Federation of America (now Argentum), as state scheduler for former U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska, and in various roles on political campaigns from county boards to the House of Representatives.
Micah holds a master of public policy degree from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor of journalism degree from the University of Nebraska. He and his wife live in the city’s Lyndale neighborhood.
