Healthy vending machine food options coming in July

Recently, more than 300 employees in City Hall and the Public Service Center responded to a survey inquiring about what kinds of healthy food they’d like to see in their building’s vending machines. Seventy-five percent of respondents said they would purchase healthy food options if they were available. The Wellness Committee has been working with the Minnesota Business Enterprises Program’s licensed legally blind vendors to provide more healthy vending machine food options in the two buildings. Starting in July, there will be new vending snack and beverage offerings giving employees who prefer a healthy snack the opportunity to use the vending machines instead of having to leave their building for food. Healthy food options will change monthly.
