X Games makes Minneapolis debut
Thursday to Sunday, Minneapolis will be a hub for extreme sports. The city is hosting the X Games Thursday through Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium with additional events taking place at the stadium’s plazas, The Commons and Mall of America.
A premier action sports event with some of the best athletes in the world competing to win bronze, silver and gold medals along with prize money, the X Games is making its Midwest debut with four days full of BMX, skateboarding and motocross competitions. The event also includes X Fest, an interactive festival with entertainment, games, attractions, food and other activities for all ages.
U.S. Bank Stadium will host a majority of the events, with the exception of the Harley-Davidson Flat Track Racing, which will be held Thursday at Mall of America. Tickets for X Games events at U.S. Bank Stadium start at $20 (general admission) and can be purchased online. Thursday’s BMX and skateboard “vert” events on the stadium’s plazas are free.
The Commons stage, located outside U.S. Bank Stadium, will host ticketed concerts featuring A Day to Remember Friday, Flume Saturday and Atmosphere Sunday. Concerts Friday and Saturday nights will run 10:45 p.m.-midnight and Sunday from 5:30-6:45 p.m.
