New source for City data analysts: Analytics Hub
The City’s Information Technology Department recently launched Analytics Hub, a new analytics and reporting application that provides data and information to City data analysts.
- The system allows City staff to find and analyze data from multiple systems across the City. The Analytics Hub is supported by the Minneapolis Data Mart, a single database that pulls data from multiple business systems and collects it into a single, easier-to-understand data structure.
- This initial release of the Analytics Hub includes data from the Enterprise Land Management System (ELMS), along with associated data from the City Assessor’s Govern system and the 311 (Lagan/KANA) system. Additional data will be added in the future. You can make requests for additional data you’d like to see included.
- Cognos Analytics, the latest version of Cognos, provides a better mix of components and a more user-friendly interface to request data. Cognos Analytics is one of the analytics tools that interacts with the Analytics Hub. You can find where to log in to Cognos Analytics on CityTalk under the Work Tools drop-down menu.
- A searchable business glossary to make it easier to determine how and where to use information in reports.
