Metro Transit’s Oct. 1 fare increase will not affect City’s Metropass users
On Oct. 1 Metro Transit will increase transit fare rates for rail, bus and Northstar service. The $3 fare limit on the City employee Metropass will increase to $3.25. The City employee Metropass will be good for the adjusted fare levels and provide a regular bus or train ride up to $3.25.
A Metropass gives employees unlimited Metro Transit bus and train rides. The employee share of the cost is automatically deducted from your pre-tax pay each month once you enroll. You’ll receive a Metropass card that you simply place on the scanner on the bus or at the METRO stop for your ride.
To sign up for a Metropass, complete the enrollment form and return it by email or interoffice mail. The form must be received by the first Friday of the month for your Metropass to start the first day of the following month. For example, for your Metropass to start Nov. 1, the enrollment form will need to be returned by Oct. 6.
