Tips from Desk Yogi: practicing self-care on your commute
You might have a robust morning commute and find yourself envying the work-at-home culture. While connecting with co-workers and showing up at the office has its advantages, the long hours spent commuting before and after work continue to be rough for many of us.
If you’re driving or on the METRO, bus or bike you may arrive at your destination feeling super stressed. But over the years the Desk Yogi team has found a few helpful remedies to share this month - the month of building resilience in our work lives:
- Read or listen to a book: You can learn a new skill, travel to another galaxy, make the drive fly by when you get sucked into a murder mystery or release tension by laughing as authors share hilarious life stories with you.
- Practice deep breathing: Sometimes being at a dead stop on the freeway is immensely stressful, yet there’s not much to do about it. Remember to take deep yoga breaths to clear your mind and ease the tension.
