Randy Moss pleads guilty

Today, Randy Moss pled guilty in Hennepin County District Court to careless driving (a misdemeanor violation of Minnesota Statutes [§169.13, Subd. 2]) and obstructing traffic (a petty misdemeanor, Minneapolis Ordinance Code violation [466.230]).
“We are pleased that we were able to secure a guilty plea on the careless driving charge, which is the most serious of the charges,” said Karen Herland, the Assistant City Attorney handling this case. “We believe we’ve reached a fair resolution in this case.”
Following his guilty plea, Moss was sentenced to 30 days in jail, 28 days of the sentence is stayed for one year. Moss received credit for the 2 days he served in jail after his arrest. Moss will pay the maximum fines allowed for these offenses: $1,000 for the misdemeanor and $200 for the petty misdemeanor. He is also required to complete 40 hours of community service and must not commit any new similar offenses as a condition of his probation.
Moss entered his guilty pleas in writing, in the form of a petition to plead guilty, which is allowed by the Rules of Criminal Procedure for misdemeanor and petty misdemeanor offenses.
