‘Hero to Hero’ tour visits Minneapolis
police and fire stationsWHAT: Minneapolis firefighters and police officers will meet briefly with leaders of the ‘Hero to Hero’ tour, which collects shirts and caps from departments across the country to send to the troops overseas. WHEN: About 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2006 WHERE: Minneapolis Police Third Precinct, 3000 Minnehaha Ave. S NOTE: The tour will also stop at Fire Station No. 4 at 1101 6th St N at about 2:30 p.m. T-shirt donations will be made at the police precinct at the time and location above. MORE: The ‘Hero to Hero’ tour is visiting 55 cities across the country this summer, and the stop in Minneapolis will include visits to both a fire station and a police precinct. Officers at the third precinct will give tour leaders shirts with the Minneapolis Police logo. For the past three years, ‘Heroes to Heroes’ has made an annual tour to collect t-shirts and caps with the logos of fire departments, law enforcement agencies, and emergency responders. Those shirts and caps are sent to American troops stationed overseas. Last year, the group sent more than 5,000 shirts to the troops.
