Pedestrian Counts
The 2008 Pedestrian Count Report is now available. Pedestrian counts have been conducted at 115 locations in Minneapolis, thanks to the help of 120 volunteers in 2007 and 2008. Findings include: • Washington Avenue SE west of Union Street is the busiest known location for pedestrians in Minneapolis, with an estimated 21,740 pedestrians per day. • Washington Avenue SE west of Union Street also carries the highest pedestrian mode share (32%) among 65 locations, compared to auto, transit, and bicycle counts. • The number of pedestrians increased 3% at 27 locations, between 2007 and 2008.
