CITYWIDE TRENDS The MPLS total violent crime rate is 23% lower in this year-to-date period than in 2008.
MPLS has had 2 homicides this year to date. Robberies decreased by 35% this year-to-date. Burglaries rose 15% this year compared to 2008. Aggravated assaults rose by 10% this week compared with this week in 2008. Rape has decreased by 43% this year over the same time period last year. Total property crimes decreased 8% in this year period. A total of 70 weapons have been placed into evidence thus far in 2009. |
