The condition of this job offer is that you pass several MPD issued Medical and Psychological Examinations. You will be notified by the MPD Health and Wellness Program of the dates, times, and locations of these pre-employment exams. Standard information of the pre-employment exams is listed below.
Drug Screen

This screening consists of a urine collection. Please arrive on time for your appointment.
Psychological Exam

The psychological exam is conducted by DRI Consulting and consists of the following:
- MMPI-2: clinical assessment personality
- EAS: thinking skills testing
- Personal History Survey: "written responses to questions about you"
- TKI: conflict styles assessment
- FIRO-B: interpersonal style assessment
- CPI: work personality assessment
- 30 to 45 minute Interview: "spoken responses to questions about you"
- Evaluation of DRI Consulting
Please arrive on time and allow five to seven hours to complete this exam. Breaks will be self-monitored. Candidates must provide own food and drink.
Medical Exam

Please arrive on time for your appointment. Do not consume any food or drink twelve hours prior to the time of your appointment (water is ok). This exam will take roughly 2-3 hours. You will be required to return to receive your Mantoux screening seventy-two hours following your appointment.
The Medical Exam consists of the following:
- Initial Questionnaire
- Follow-up of Questionnaire
- Audiogram
- Titmus Vision Testing
- Pulmonary Function Test
- Chest x-ray
- EKG (Electrocardiogram)
- Kraus Weber Test
- Industrial Battery
- Venipuncture
- Mantoux (Tuberculosis screen)
- Hepatitis B Antibody Screen
- Cardiopulmonary Stress Test
- Graded Exercise Test (GXT) which consists of walking on a treadmill. Assessed are heart rate, blood pressure, symptoms, and EKG.
- No food or smoking 2 hours prior to your GXT exam. This will take roughly 45 minutes. Bring appropriate work-out attire. Changing rooms are provided, but no showers are available.

MPD recommends that applicants do not give formal written notice to current employers until the applicant is notified that he/she has successfully passed all of the above requirements and has received a FINAL job offer from the City of Minneapolis.
