Project Updates:

December 15, 2009

The community involvement process has now been completed and the final layout (see Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 layouts on the left) was presented to the City Council for approval.  The project will now be submitted to MnDOT for review and is scheduled to be constructed in the 2010 construction season. 

August 27, 2009 City of Minneapolis NTP Update:

The public review process is completed.  The CAC will begin meeting again in the fall.  There are a few design issues to be resolved.  Specifically with Metro Transit bus turn movements at Chicago & 40th and 42nd & 42nd.  There is also discussion about adding another diverter at intersection in the Bancroft neighborhood.  There is also a parking issue at 31st and 42nd to be resolved, which will dictate whether the connection between 40th and 42nd is at 30th or 31st.  The project memo has not been started but will be submitted by the end of September.  Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2010, and anticipated completion is fall of 2010.

April 30, 2009 City of Minneapolis NTP Update:

The public open house has occurred and monthly CAC meetings have continued. The final plan set is underway and the design details are nearly complete. 2 more CAC meetings will be held. Final design and the project memo will be turned into MnDOT for review this summer. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2010, and anticipated completion is fall of 2010.

January 9, 2009 City of Minneapolis NTP Update:

A preliminary design for the project has been completed. It is available for review at http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/public-works/cip/riverlake/Layout_1-07-08.pdf Work on the detailed plan set has begun. Monthly CAC meetings have been held since September, after the summer break. A public open house is scheduled for January 2009 moved to February 4th at Roosevelt School at 6:30 pm. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2010, and anticipated completion is fall of 2010.

12/10/2008:

The RiverLake Greenway is currently in the ending phases of project development. Public open house meeting will be held in Wednesday February 4, 2009 starting at 6:30 pm in Roosevelt High School located at 4029 28th Ave S. Minneapolis. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss issues and opportunities as they relate to adding an alternate transportation route within the existing public right-of-way.
