The new victim/witness assistant will be able to provide increased support for victims, explain the criminal justice process and make referrals to resources. The goal is to increase victim participation in cases, improve prosecution outcomes and decrease dismissals caused by the failure of victims and witnesses to appear for trial and provide greater assistance to crime victims.
