About Regulatory Services & Emergency PreparednessThe Regulatory Services and Emergency Preparedness Division of the City Coordinator's Office is responsible for the supervision and management of Regulatory Services Divisions including Inspections and Licenses & Consumer Services. In addition, citywide Emergency Preparedness is coordinated by Regulatory Services and Emergency Preparedness. The Department of Regulatory Services contains two main business lines: Inspection Services and Operations, Licensing and Environmental services. Each business line carries out activities through the Regulatory Services Division. The Department is charged with the responsibility of protecting the health, safety and welfare of Minneapolis residents through a program of regulation, inspection, testing, and enforcement of laws and ordinances pertaining to licensed business establishments, building inspection, housing inspection, plan review, pollution control, and animal care and control.
