Rental of Containers - Special EventsRental available for events held within the City of Minneapolis only. City of Minneapolis, Solid Waste & Recycling has garbage, recycling, and/or compost containers (carts) for rent, at $20.00 per cart. What do you get for your $20.00 per cart fee, for special event use?
No refunds - cart rental is based on your request, not your usage. Weekend events require the containers (carts) to be delivered to a secure location on Friday afternoon, with collection on Monday morning at the same secure location. The event organizer has the right to place carts where needed throughout the event site. The Organizer is responsible for the safekeeping of the carts and will be charged $50.00 for each missing and/or damaged cart. The number of carts available depends on our current inventory of carts. We have approximately 75 recycling carts, and an unlimited number of garbage & organics carts. If your request will be for over 20 carts, please contact our office to make sure the number your need is available We deliver and pickup the containers at one outside location that is convenient to the crew. We do not place or pick up containers at any other location, unless approved by this office. You are free to move or place the carts as you wish, during your event. Application and check MUST be received in the Solid Waste & Recycling office at least 10 days before the date of the delivery. Rental is not guaranteed. *Costs for additional special services requested by the applicant will be determined by the Solid Waste & Recycling staff and must be pre-approved before submitting application and payment.
