Northrop
Like many Minneapolis neighborhoods, Northrop (pdf) was named for its elementary school. Northrop Urban Environmental Learning Center, Grand Rounds Scenic Byway, and McRae Park are located within Northrop proper. Northrop’s borders are: 43rd Street E, Cedar Ave S, Minnehaha Creek, and Chicago Ave.
The Northrop neighborhood closely partners with adjacent neighborhoods Field and Regina. The Field Regina Northrop Neighborhood Group and South Chicago Avenue Business Alliance serve the wider area.
In the spirit of collaboration, Northrop embraces and utilizes Field School, McKnight Early Childhood Family Development Center, and Hiawatha Golf and Cross Country Ski Park.
