Homegrown Minneapolis is a citywide initiative expanding our community's ability to grow, process, distribute, eat and compost more healthy, sustainable, locally grown foods.

Mississippi Riverfront Partnership - Executive Committee
Minneapolis ability to continue its riverfront revitalization efforts is being strengthened by the Minneapolis Riverfront Partnership. This organization is helping Minneapolis achieve its riverfront vision in a more effective, efficient manner. Council Member Hofstede serves as a member of the Executive Committee.

Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO)
The Mississippi Watershed Management Organization is a watershed organization in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. The vision of the MWMO is to lead, and to foster stewardship of the watershed with actions that promote civil ownership and responsibility and through measures that achieve diverse and functional ecosystems.

North Metro Mayors Association
The North Metro Mayors Association was created in 1987 to encourage private and public investments in the north suburban area. A large number of north metro cities are represented, including most municipalities along Bottineau Boulevard.

Northstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA)
The Northstar Corridor Development Authority (NCDA) was formed to address the increased need for additional transportation solutions between St. Cloud and Minneapolis. Over the next decade, the NCDA overcame many hurdles to make the Northstar Commuter Rail Project a reality. The Northstar has added to the much needed transportation capacity in the region and created an easy and safe way for people to travel. Council Member Hofstede represents the City of Minneapolis on this board.

RiverFIRST Steering Committee
RiverFIRST is a citywide initiative adopted by the Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board to revitalize a 5-mile stretch along the Mississippi River from the Stone Arch Bridge to the City of Minneapolis limits.

St. Anthony Falls Heritage Board
Since 1988, the St. Anthony Falls Heritage Board has provided both funding and leadership to accomplish their mission of preserving and interpreting the St. Anthony Falls Historic District. The Board has served as a central meeting place for groups to come together to envision and complete projects that were too big for one agency or organization to take on alone.
Council Member Hofstede is one of two Minneapolis Council Members on this board.

University District Alliance - Board of Directors
The Alliance is a legislative partnership of SE neighborhoods (Marcy Holmes), the University of Minnesota, Augsburg College, the Third Ward, regulatory services, the business community, 2nd Police Precinct, and U of M Police Department that supports the vision of:
- capitalizing on its exceptional resources (Riverfront, Dinkytown, and University of Minnesota);
- maintain and improve a vibrant, safe, healthy and sustainable community;
- a preferred place for people of all ages to live, work, learn, do business, and visit.

The Stadium Area Advisory Group (SAAG) advises the University of Minnesota on issues and concerns of neighborhoods and communities located nearby the new on-campus stadium, TCF Bank Stadium.
