
Executive Committee
This committee acts on the Mayor's nomination of Charter Department Heads, reviews new policy and program proposals, and directs labor negotiations.

The Executive Committee is an independent body created by referendum in 1984. It unites the executive power of the Mayor with the legislative authority of the council in a single body. The Mayor is chair and the Council President is its vice-chair, with the other council leaders as committee members.
