Communications Department

Good communication is saying things so people understand and care about the message. Good communication about Minneapolis and its government is the mission of this department.

It's the job of the Communications Department to help other City departments and agencies identify what information and messages need to be conveyed to Minneapolis' diverse audiences and make sure that this is done in the most effective manner possible. It is also our job to find opportunities to promote what makes Minneapolis the great city that it is - its theaters, arts, restaurants, colleges, hospitals, parks -and the successes of city government: environmental efforts, improved public safety, affordable housing among others.
