What to expect

  • The automated system answers the call.
  • It will ask you to select your preferred language.
  • It will ask you to say a few words or select options to get an answer to your questions.

Extra help

If the automated system did not answer your question:

  • You can start over to try again.
  • During the day, after 2 tries, you can get connected to an agent trained to answer your question.
  • After hours, you can leave a voice mail.  Your question will be answered the next business day.

How to use the system

Select your preferred language

  • Say or press the number for your preferred language,
    Note: Pressing the number on your phone's keypad is faster.
  • For English and Spanish, you can say a word or phrase with your question.
  • For Hmong and Somali, you will press the numbers on your phone for your questions.

Tips

  • Speak clearly and slowly.
  • Call from a quiet place.
  • Avoid using your phone on speaker.
  • Use as few words as possible.
    • Best result: "pet license"
    • Too vague:  "I need a license"
    • Too wordy: "I need a license for my new dog"
