Annual budget process

We explain how the City's budget is created.

Learn about the budget process

Every year, we create a budget that represents our needs and values as a community.

Ideas for the budget come from people in the community, including:

  • Residents
  • Businesses
  • Neighborhood groups
  • City departments

In August, the Mayor recommends a budget.

At the end of the year, the City Council adopts a budget.
