4th Ave S resurfacing
The City will remove and add a new layer of asphalt to streets on 4th Ave S, between 38th St E and 46th St E.
Project overview
In 2023, City staff will resurface the streets in this area. We replace the top layer of asphalt pavement to extend the life of a street. The new pavement should last at least 10 years.
ADA pedestrian ramp upgrades
All existing street corners have been upgraded to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Schedule
- Project staff held a virtual neighborhood meeting on Thursday, February 9, 2023
- Select curb and gutter replacement work to begin the week of May 15th, 2023
- 4th Ave will be milled and overlaid the week of June 5th, 2023

Traffic impacts
4th Ave S will be closed and detoured June 6th, 2023, through June 8th, 2023. It will remain open to local traffic during the evenings.
