Project overview

We've determined the following sanitary sewer needs rehabilitation:

Cedar Ave north of East Minnehaha Parkway

Year installed: 1926

What we'll do

The project will remove and replace about 330 feet of existing 12" clay pipe with 12" PVC pipe. We'll also replace manholes in the area as part of this project.

Background

We assess sewer system conditions on a regular basis to:

  • Find infrastructure rehabilitation (rehab) needs
  • Check over the aging sewer system
  • Maintain and improve the system
  • Keep the system reliable
  • Using the condition and risk data, we focus on the sewers with the most rehab needs.

Traffic impacts

Cedar Ave will be reduced to one lane in each direction. We'll keep access to businesses open.

Residents, businesses and visitors may experience:

  • Traffic detours
  • Noise
  • Vibration
  • Dust in work areas
