Project overview

  • The Grand Ave S bridge was built in 1914 by the Chicago, Milwaukee, and Saint Paul Railroad. It was constructed to help separate railroad traffic from city streets.
  • This Grand Ave S bridge goes over the midtown greenway, which is a big pathway for bikes and walkers.
  • The road already has sidewalks that are 8 feet wide and grassy areas on both sides, allowing cars and people to use it. The corridor offers one-way southbound vehicular traffic. The bridge length is 106 feet, with a width from curb to curb of 30 feet.
