The project includes several upgrades to make the area safer and easier for everyone to use. This work includes:
- Changes to the street layout
- Extending curbs to make street crossings shorter
- New pedestrian median islands to help people cross the street safely
- Rapid Rectangular Flashing Beacon (RRFB) to alert drivers that pedestrians and bicyclists are crossing the street
