Waste collection issues

Learn how to fix a problem with how you set your waste out for pickup.

Educational tag

Our field supervisor will leave a blue educational tag on one of your garbage, recycling or other carts if there is a problem with your setout. The tag will list both the date when the problem was noticed and the deadline to clean it up.

If you don't clean the area by 6 a.m. on the due date written on the blue tag, our crews will clean it and bill you for the service.

Whenever a blue tag is left, we will also send you a courtesy letter via the US Postal Service to inform you of your clean up due date.

Cleaning responsibility

Your pickup location is either at the alley or curb line. It is your responsibility to keep the area around your pickup location clean of litter and debris. This area:

  • Starts where your property meets the alley or street
  • Runs the entire length of your property
  • Goes 20 feet from the alley or street back onto your property
