Asthma triggers

The air quality in your home can trigger an asthma attack in people who live with the condition. Contributing factors include:

  • Mold
  • Pet dander
  • Pests like cockroaches or mice
  • Pollen

Health risks

People who have asthma attacks have difficulty breathing. In extreme cases, this can be fatal.

Why we have these resources

The funding is for:

  • Asthma triggers education and mitigation
  • Lead hazard education
  • Testing for lead levels in children

Asthma Program

Free asthma inhaler spacers delivered to Minneapolis Schools

Our asthma team is helping children across Minneapolis.

We've delivered more than 160 asthma inhaler spacers to 13 Minneapolis schools.

The medicine in an inhaler releases quickly, making it difficult to properly inhale all of the medicine. The spacer makes it easier to get all the medication into the lungs.
